The wait is finally over!
After nearly a year’s time, Letterpress Things has reopened for walk-in letterpress shopping! The year-long relocation process was a physical, and at times, exasperating undertaking. It’s been a long wait for friends and letterpressers but one well worthwhile. The new location - neat, bright, tightly organized - is cram-packed with loads of letterpress stuff. Take a quick minute for a short photo tour in “John’s Blog” to get a glimpse of what awaits visitors now our doors are reopened.
When did the doors reopen?
Thursday, June 26th, Friday, June 27th, Saturday, June 28th. And they will be every Friday and Saturday until the end of July. This is a momentary departure from our previous “every other Saturday” schedule long followed in Chicopee. A detailed calendar of dates and open times can be seen on the “Open Dates” page.
So, what’s new and different?
The Holyoke location is considerably smaller than Chicopee - much, much smaller! Frankly, our initial concern was would there be room for visitor’s to move about or linger in one spot; to leisurely view counters and displays; poke about on shelves, pull out and peek in drawers; and/or just casually hang out! Our first Open Dates allayed those concerns. Initial visitors had no issues finding and gathering supplies, type and other “treasures”
Up for a letterpress experience?
Letterpress practioners reside all over New England and beyond; a visit to Letterpress Things can be a true “bucket list” occurance for many! It’s a unique opportunity to be immersed in and around all things letterpress, to find and acquire one-of-a-kind items to basic supplies and tools. Be you a long-time friend and associate, a “newbie” needing supplies and “things”, or just someone curious about the craft, a day-trip here to our new location will be fun experience!
