November 2025 marks 25 years of service to the letterpress community!
The weekend before Thanksgiving in the year 2000, we walked up four flights of stairs in an old mill building in Chicopee, MA. And thus began a new and quite different place for letterpress printers to visit. . . an actual ‘Store’ one could travel to, browse about in and find all sorts of letterpress ‘things’! Indeed, it had been a vision of ours for decades.
In ‘John’s Blog’ we’ll soon start to recount some of the memories and experiences enjoyed [and suffered] over the years. It’s been a wonderful adventure for JoAnn and I certainly not a journey one would expect to undertake through their senior years. [When the doors opened in 2000, we were 60 years old. .. do the math!]
Literally thousands of people have made the trek to our doors. From all over the US, Canada, the other America’s, Europe, Asia and yes, even from down ‘under.’ Plus, we’ve met scores more letterpress people in our travels to many and various venues across the country.
Continuing forward, our hopes are, you who have already visited, (and many who haven’t,) take the opportunity to revisit and visit our current and exciting location in Holyoke, MA. Letterpress Things is a very special place we’ve worked for 25 years to proudly built for you and the letterpress community. . . a real Store with, of and for all ‘things’ letterpress!
